Maybe it has something to do with the game engines 64Hz. I had a Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX AGP with 512MB and I ran the game with a 19" Philips CRT in 1400x1050 with 75Hz. But you need this file or it won't work.Īs I can remember back in the days when I was playing Fallout 3, I didn't have any stutter issues like in Fallout New Vegas. Can't post it where you can download it because it is kinda illegal, use google instead. And make sure you use a decrypted(cd-/dvd-fixed) FalloutNV.exe. Maybe it was User Account Control-related (UAC). So I had to make the "withdll.exe" running as administrator because the "no_stutter.bat" starts the "withdll.exe". I only see the cmd-window pop-up and it closes without doing anything.

In my case I can't run the "no_stutter.bat" as administrator from the same archive (preliminary_5-34832.zip). The second important thing is that you make sure the withdll.exe file from the New Vegas Stutter Remover (preliminary_5-34832.zip archive) will be executed as admininstartor too (right mouse button on this file, then "properties" and under "compatibility" make sure there is a check mark in the check box "Run as Admin").

Else the loader won't create the FalloutNV.4gb that you need to run the game with full 4GB support under a 64Bit operation system. It is very important that you run the "fnv4gb.exe" from the "4GB Fallout New Vegas"-Mod as administrator. Just follow the steps I have written above step-by-step and everything will be fine. You can find it here Tweakguides Fallout 3 and here Memory, Loading & Multi-threading especially for Multi-threading.Ĭlick to expand.I am sure it will work for you too because it is an engine issue and it has nothing to do with the manufactor of your videocard. "the LAA flag was enabled in this executable"īTW there is a good Tweakguide for Fallout 3 and you can use it for Fallout New Vegas and tweak some parameters for Quad Core CPUs or if you have 4 Threads. With the normal FalloutNV.exe I wouldn't have this in the log file: Improved_GetTickCount seems to be working It will create a second file of your (decrypted/skiddy) "FalloutNV.exe" called FalloutNV.4gb ( 1

Run the "fnv4gb.exe" as Admin and quit the game. Copy the "fnv4gb.exe" and the "fnv4gb_helper.dll" (4GB Fallout New Vegas Mod) into your Fallout NV Folder.Ģ. Copy your favorite d3d9.dll (the Nvidia or the ATI or the semi-customized self-created from the "D3D9Gen b2"-archive d3d9.dll) into your Fallout NV folder.ġ. I've combined the 4GB Fallout New Vegas with the New Vegas Stutter Remover because the new version (preliminary_5) of the NV Stutter Remover supports the LAA Flag in the modified FalloutNV.exe.Ġ.

No frame skipping or micro-stutters anymore!Īs you mentioned in your first post, you will need a decrypted FalloutNV.exe (let's call it skiddy NV update 2 E圎 ) to do the trick. No stutters anymore and the 40-60 fps feel like 40-60 fps. Today I combined the non-plus-ultra and it runs very smooth at ultra-high with 2xAA and 8xAF with my notebook. With a iFPSClamp parameter of 0 (standard) and the the ati d3d9.dll perf fix I had a frame rate between 40-60 (I've used Fraps) BUT(!) it felt a good deal worse, I mean it was like I had "micro-stutters" with a single/non-crossfire videocard and that was far far away from being smooth.

But this workaround made the game run slow sometimes (x50fps) and the dialogs weren't synchronic.

I did the workaround with the "iFPSClamp=50" command in the Fallout_default.ini and with the Alternate D3D9 fix for ATI plus Generator (there is also a second file in the downloads called "D3D9Gen b2" and u can create semi-customized d3d9.dlls for your videocard, Java Runtime Environment needed). It is an engine issue 4 sure! I had similar stutters with an ATI Mobility HD 5850 videocard. I just wanted to say that this is not a Nvidia-only issue.
